TRAINING, EQUIPPING & MOBILISING LEADERS AND CHURCHES IN AFRICA
THE VISION OF ALS
ALS (Africa Leadership School), which was founded by Craig Botha, offers training, equipping and help for existing churches and leaders in three key areas:
TRAINING & DISCIPLESHIP
There are currently 5 training modules in print, and electronic format supplemented with Dr Michael Eaton's outstanding Bible resources.
We use Dr Michael Eaton's Bible commentaries (Preaching though the Bible) and systematic theology (the Plan and Purpose of God) in print, digital and audio format, and other audio leadership resources.
ABOUT
Since ALS (Africa Leadership School) began in 1999, we have become increasingly aware of the strategic missional importance of cities in fulfilling the great commission outlined in Matt 28:18 – 20.
The cities of Africa are currently experiencing explosive numerical and gospel growth, which necessitates local leaders receiving ongoing gospel centred training and resourcing.
The Gospel of Grace
We value the gospel of grace found in Jesus Christ for salvation and ongoing transformation of people and cultures.
The Cities of Africa
We value the cities of Africa as a strategic current missional priority.
The Next Generation
We value training and resourcing the next generation of indigenous African leadership from various denominations who understand how best to apply the gospel in their context.
Prayer
We value prayer towards seeing a move of God and the gospel on this continent.

Thank you so much for this ministry. It is a massive resource made available to hard working pastors who would never otherwise access this material. We will be distributing the books in visits to the 20 pastors we work with over the next two months.

The Michael Eaton books have been an invaluable resource to many of the pastors in the Eastern Cape region that we have worked with. We have a culturally diverse community that has limited financial resources but a hunger for the Word of God and a need for sound theology. I have had feedback from pastors who use the commentaries in their sermon preparation and community group leaders who use them in their Bible study gatherings. I am currently making use of the commentary on Acts as we are going through the Book of Acts as a church and I am preparing resources weekly in the form of devotions, “nuggets” and teaching notes for our congregation and small groups. I have found Michael’s teachings rich and insightful. We appreciate your great kindness in making them available to us.
Below are points of how the books help me as a minister of the word of God and as an individual being: 1. The format , both font type and size, make them easy to read. I found the books very useful in terms of preparing sermons because the books have the Bible chapter well discussed with references to other scriptures to show emphasis. They also give clarity on each verse of the books. I also found them very helpful in terms of learning each Gospel writer's style of writing. For example, Matthew goes into more details when writing than the other gospel writers. 2. Spiritually, they are not just a couple of books to read but they carry such an anointing that has really transformed my life. The books have a great flow that gives courage to continue reading and learning from them. They have also helped me to know the truth of the Bible and acquire profound thoughts and understanding of the word of God. Thank you so much for allowing God to use you and these books and give us the revelation of the Word of God.

The books are very much inspirational. It’s a tool that every believer needs for their spiritual growth and wellbeing, especially Pastors. It’s a tool that Pastors can use in their daily preparation of their devotions and preaching.
When I started reading the books, I followed their sequence in the Bible, so I started with the book of Matthew. I believe so far I’m acquainted with it more than anything else. I was blessed most by chapter 4 of the book of Matthew where the author emphasizes on Satanic Temptation. What blessed me most was that, the devil can offer us quick ways to success, to knowledge, to holiness. So the author said that even Jesus was tempted, He was offered a shortcut, but one line of a scripture was enough to withstand the temptation. I was motivated to know that it is not the whole Bible that will make me withstand any situation but only one relevant scripture is enough for me to withstand any situation or any temptation the enemy might throw into my life.
The way I was so blessed by this portion of a passage, I was even able to prepare a sermon based on that passage. As I continued to prepare my sermon, the Holy Spirit started to bring more scriptures to my attention to support the view of the Author. The title of my sermon was “Refuse Shortcuts” and it was birthed from the book of Matthew . Every time I need to prepare a sermon, I know that as I continue to study the books, a sermon is always birthed out of it. So to me the books are a treasure that can help me to stand, to fight, to preach, to grow, to share, to evangelize - the list is endless.

I am busy with the book of Revelation. It provides an in depth understanding and how John saw all that he has written. The interpretation of each verse is so amazing, and how it correlates with other verses in different books of the Bible. The interpretation of different types of churches taught me to identify the type of church that I am leading as a pastor. This really awakened me to improve on the limitations that the church is having. I believe that I will learn more as I continue to read all the other PTTB books.
My wife and I are very thankful to God for Apostle David Mulutsi and Pastor Louisa who bought us Michael Eaton's Preaching Through the Bible series of books. They have been very helpful in our message preparation. They are written in a simple, easy to understand yet profound way. They make studying the Word easy and interesting. They are broadening our understanding and sharpening our ability to preach the word.
